NEPTUNO is a project of European association to boost
co-operation and improve the knowledge of Open and Distance Learning products
and methodologies.
General Objectives:
- Facilitate the co-operation among organisations and institutions in the field of ODL.
- Increase teachers, trainers´and directors´skills as far as the use of ODL techniques is concerned.
- Improve the quality and access to ODL products.
Particular Objectives:
- Development of Open and Distance Learning in the University,
with the creation of a group, that carries out research, adapts and develops
tools, production environment and teaching of educative materials based
on INTERNET.
- Constitution and consolidation of an experts group
to carry out research and regional, technological and pedagogical questions,
concerning Open and Distance Learning in the university and its environment.
This group will be in charge of the development and adaptation of the development
areas and teaching of educative materials, so that tools for creation of
Web pages and access navigators, implicitly include the necessary pedagogical
resources and the quality of the material produced be guaranteed, facilitating
at the same time its development by experts in the area, who do not have
to be these advanced computer science and communication technology users.
- Selection of a pilot group of (teachers-developers)
among experts from the university and other European institutions able
to develop and produce ODL materials, with whom the experience will be
carried out and who will participate in the development of pilot materials.
- Production of materials for Internet, as pilots, in
the following thematic areas: ·Business Creation, Informatic Graphics,
Cognitive Psychology, Environmental issues and others.
- Distribution of developed materials using an improved
environment, based in Internet, which gives access to the training/information
system.
- Disseminate and transfer knowledge and experience
to other university areas, trying to involve a greater number of teachers
and students into the experience, as well as establish the basis for co-operation
with other local, regional, national and international networks of open
Learning, that integrate Universities, Commerce Chambers, Public institutions,
associations, Institutes, etc....
Products and Outcomes:
- Reports: State of the art and needs (pedagogical and
technical) that arise from ODL to settle successfully.
- Report on a proposal that integrates pedagogical and technical questions
(Development-adaptation of distribution and production environment of educative
materials in Internet).
- Resources/software:
Production environment: Staff, assistants, outlines and recommendation
to facilitate the production of educative material
Environment of Access-Distribution: Glossaries, bibliography, electronic
board, electronic overhead projector, video-audio ...
Internet Courses and training materials
Methodology:
- Laboratory for Open and Distance Learning: Research, adaptation
and development of production and distribution areas of educative materials
about Internet.
- Placements and pilot projects: Telematic forum debates
(initially closed)will be used to propose research lines, from which, materials
about Internet will be developed, and to divulge guidelines of these forums
and application of Internet as a resource.
- Diffusion and transfer: Making the system available to
the rest of the university world at a local level and setting up a series
of criteria for its use.
